Hi there! I really think it is awesome you are visiting my website. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ruben and I am a game (engine) developer and a professional full-stack developer, devops engineer and software architect. Even though I am Dutch, I work and live in Belgium.
What started as a hobby quickly became the origin story of my career as software developer. While I love creating games and libraries for games it is hard to find a job doing exactly that. There are many game developers who therefore do game dev in their spare time and persue another career to ensure a stable income. I decided to walk the same road.
I was lucky to be able to use the knowledge I gained as game developer to find my way in the world of professional software and web development. Despite games being very visual and requiring a different mindset, technically they have a lot in common with business applications. And having personal experience with customer service tends to help designing front-ends more user-friendly. This portfolio is a presentation of my knowledge, skills and creations.
